BMW SS 6RR
According to a report on Motociclismo, BMW are working on a new 600cc supersports machine, which will be officially unveiled by late-2009. To be called the S6RR or the S600RR, the bike is likely to have a 600-675cc three-cylinder engine, and single-side front suspension.
We’ve earlier done reports on Benelli and MV Agusta working on brand-new 600cc supersport machines, and now it’s BMW. So maybe the Triumph Daytona 675 has finally inspired other European bike manufacturers after all…
BMW K 1300 S
The BMW K 1300 S is the fastest BMW motorcycle ever in terms of acceleration. Under full hard acceleration, you can hit 100km/h in 2.8 seconds but achieving this requires far more skill than a car driver would need. This kind of acceleration is no joke, it is faster than either the M3 or the M5 and you aren’t sitting nicely in a sports bucket seat while experiencing it.
This is thanks to the bike’s 1.3 litre four-cylinder engine which puts out a total of 175 horsepower and 140Nm of torque. It revs up to a stratospheric 11,000rpm redline. The K 1300 S retails for RM 119,000 while the K 1300 R and the K 1300 GT is priced at RM120k and RM135k respectively.

BMW Malaysia is introducing a total of 7 new motorcycles this year, the BMW HP2 Sport, the BMW K 1300 S, the BMW K 1300 R, the BMW K 1300 GT, the BMW R 1200 R, the BMW F 650 GS and the BMW F 800 GS. BMW bike sales for 2008 represented a 36% increase over 2007 sales – a total of 183 units.

BMW's 140bhp superbike will race at Le Mans
This is the first official image of the Sportboxer and the closest thing to a Superbike BMW has ever built.
The 140bhp, 195kg (fully-fuelled) Sportboxer is leading BMW’s assault on an all out, no compromises sports machine.
This weekend it will be competing in one of the world’s toughest endurance races, the Le Mans 24-hour. On track the Sport Boxer will be up against Yamaha R1s, Suzuki GSX-R1000s and Honda Fireblades; no small feat for an air-cooled, twin-cylinder giving away the best part of 50bhp.
The final production version of the Sport Boxer will be officially unveiled at the Paris Motorcycle Show in September, it is predicted the bike will cost £12,000 when it hits the showrooms in 2008. Read the full story and see more exclusive images in tomorrow’s MCN out 18/04/2007.
