Several 2012 Harley-Davidson Motorcycles Ready to Hit Roads
Harley-Davidson has begun the delivery of all 15 models in the 2012 Touring, Trike and Sportster lines to its dealers in the U.S. and Europe. The company said that these motorcycles will be available for sale immediately.
The range of motorcycle that will feature in the 2012 Harley-Davidson Sportster model include the affordable Dark Custom roadster posture of the Iron 883, SuperLow, Sportster, 1200 Custom, Nightster, Forty-Eight and the track-inspired performance of the XR1200X. Each Sportster model will offer the heartbeat of an authentic American V-Twin engine and pace-setting style and performance, the company noted.
All 2012 Sportster models will feature Michelin Scorcher tires with a tread pattern that are designed, tested and styled for providing ideal grip and longer life. Fifteen Sportster paint options include seven new color choices for 2012.
The 2012 Harley-Davidson Touring models include a range of eight motorcycles that are powered by a Twin Cam 103 engine with Automatic Compression Release and integrated oil cooler. This powertrain generates 102 ft. lbs. of peak torque at 3500 rpm. The Harley-Davidson Touring models include Road King, Road King Classic, Electra Glide Classic, Ultra Classic Electra, Glide, Electra Glide Ultra Limited, Street Glide, Road Glide Custom and Road Glide Ultra.
2012 Harley-Davidson Trike model, the 2012 Tri Glide Ultra Classic brings original-equipment design, quality and service to the three-wheel motorcycle segment. This motorcycle is based on chassis structure and geometry engineered specifically to handle the loads generated by the steering forces and weight of a three-wheel vehicle. The Tri Glide Ultra will be available in three color combinations.

FIM released 2012 MotoGP Calendar
The FIM announced changes to the MotoGP World Championship 2012 provisional calendar, which include a change of date for the opening round in Qatar, the confirmation of the Jerez circuit contract plus the designation of Sachsenring as the circuit to host the Grand Prix of Germany (pending confirmation of the contract)

Casey Stoner Took Pole Position On MotoGP 2011 Qualifying First Match
Casey Stoner (Honda) took pole position on the MotoGP 2011 qualifying session at Losail circuit, Qatar. Stoner was in first position, while Dani Pedrosa in second place. Honda Team managed to dominate in MotoGP racing in 2011 in Losail, Qatar.
Casey Stoner managed to record the fastest time of 1 minute 54, 137 seconds, 0.205 seconds ahead of teammate Dani Pedrosa. Meanwhile, in the third position is occupied defending champion Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha) with a record 1 minute 54,947 seconds, 0.810 seconds behind Stoner in the first position. Valentino Rossi could only reach ninth place under Barbera, Dovizioso and Crutchlow.

San Carlo Honda Gresini Launches Campaign
The San Carlo Honda Gresini Team has officially launched its 2009 MotoGP campaign. The team, led by two-time 125cc World Champion Fausto Gresini, took off on its 2009 journey at the ‘Officine del Volo’ in Milan.
Fausto Gresini and Alberto Vitaloni, President of San Carlo Gruppo Alimentare, carried out the honors and presented the 2009 team line-up.
Riders Alex De Angelis and Toni Elias will assume riding duties for the Faenza-based squad this year with De Angelis continuing for a second season and Elias rejoining the Honda Gresini family after one year of absence. The San Marinese and the Spaniard unveiled the new liveries on their 2009-spec RC212V machines, emblazoned with the logo of title sponsor San Carlo.
Numerous personalities from the world of two wheels were present, including Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta , Honda Italia President Yasuhiro Oyama and the Italian Motorcycle Federation President Paolo Sesti.
Honda Now Has Five Factory Riders – Knights San Carlo Honda Gresini as a Factory Squad
How serious is Honda about winning the 2011 MotoGP World Championship? At Team Gresini’s MotoGP launch at Monza today, it was quietly confirmed that the San Carlo Honda Gresini squad has been given the keys to the candy store, turning the team into a factory-backed effort. While Marco Simoncelli was already assured factory support from Honda for the 2011 season, the move adds Hiroshi Aoyama to the factory rider list, and likely makes Gresini’s life infinitely less complex by not having to manage between a factory and non-factory split garage.
Team Gresini will now get full access to the Honda’s technical staff and data acquisition from the other factory riders — meaning every Honda rider except Toni Elias. This bodes well for the squad, as Simoncelli looked very promising at Sepang (likely a factor adding in this announcement), and of course Honda is keen not to see its only countrymen in the series (Aoyama) excluded from having the best equipment.
“Today is a factory team a hundred percent,” said Team Principal Fausto Gresini (translated from Italian to English via Google). “And I feel much more official than in the past for the opening of the Honda against us: we now have access to all data and Honda placed his staff between our technical team. If you see the box you understand that our team is official.”
Cramming the MotoGP grid full of factory riders seems like an interesting way to better the Honda’s chances for success, although it remains to be seen how having five hungry mouths to feed with technical support will work for the Japanese manufacturer, and who, if anyone, will get top priority with development efforts.
In addition to its five factory riders, Honda has already had to tip its hand regarding its new faster-shifting transmission, after accusations that Honda was using an illegal DCT arose from the Italian press. At the latest Sepang test, the 2011 Honda RC212V looked assuredly faster when compared to the Yamaha, Ducati, and Suzuki MotoGP efforts. It’s far too early to make analogies to the 2011 season, but Honda has certainly thrown down its challenge. It’ll be interesting to see how the other teams respond.
